About Lima
Lima is Peru's capital and largest city, founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535 on the Pacific coast, with a metropolitan population of around 11 million — nearly a third of Peru's entire population.
As Peru's financial and corporate capital, Lima is home to the Bolsa de Valores de Lima (BVL) and the headquarters of major banks like BCP and Interbank, as well as the country's largest media and retail companies.
Lima Internet Providers
Claro and Movistar both run their Peruvian headquarters from Lima, where their fixed and mobile networks are densely built out.
- Claro Peru — Claro Peru's parent, América Móvil, runs its Peruvian headquarters from Lima, and the capital carries the densest share of Claro's fixed and mobile network.
- Movistar (Telefónica) — Movistar's Peruvian arm, Telefónica del Perú, is headquartered in Lima and has offered fixed broadband in the capital since the country's telecom privatization in the 1990s.
- Bitel — Bitel built much of its early subscriber base in Peru's provinces before expanding into Lima, where it now competes directly with the established carriers.
- Entel — Entel entered Peru by acquiring Nextel's operations in 2013, giving it an established presence in Lima's business districts from the outset.
Why a Surflare Lima IP
Most providers only offer one type of Lima IP. Here's what sets Surflare apart.
- Every IP type behind one Lima account — Move between Lima VPN, Datacenter, ISP and Residential IPs from a single Surflare account, covering everything from a Metropolitano top-up to a BVL broker login.
- App for Municipalidad de Lima, proxy for the rest — Connect with one tap in the Surflare app to manage Municipalidad de Lima and Metropolitano accounts, or plug the same Lima IP's SOCKS5/HTTP credentials into a scraper or anti-detect browser.
- A dedicated IP, not shared with strangers — Your Lima dedicated ISP or Residential IP is exclusively yours. BCP and other Lima-based banks are quicker to trust an address that isn't also being used by other people.
- Pin down Lima, not just Peru — Our IP pool is deep enough to target Lima specifically, from Miraflores to Callao, instead of settling for a generic Peruvian address.

Frequently asked questions
Can I access BCP or Interbank online banking with a Lima IP?
Yes. A Lima IP lets you reach Peruvian bank portals like BCP and Interbank that expect a local address, and a residential IP is the most reliable way to pass their checks.
Can I get a Surflare Lima IP on the Claro or Movistar network?
Yes. Claro's parent América Móvil and Movistar's Telefónica del Perú both run their Peruvian operations from Lima, and Surflare's Lima ISP and Residential IPs are drawn from real ranges across both networks.
Is using a VPN or proxy legal in Lima?
Yes. Using a VPN or proxy in Lima, like anywhere else in Peru, is legal for legitimate purposes such as privacy, streaming and account management. You remain responsible for the terms of the services you access.
Can I target Lima specifically, not just Peru?
Yes. Surflare's Lima IPs let you target the city directly, so your traffic reads as coming from Lima rather than a generic Peruvian address elsewhere in the country.
